Dear Future Members:

The South Dakota Elk Breeders Association was founded April 19, 1997 in Pierre, South Dakota with forty people present for the first meeting.

The goals set forth by this association are to promote the many different aspects of the elk industry, to inform and educate it’s members of new ideas and technological advances, to have a chance to meet with our peers occasionally to discuss current views and topics and to have an opportunity to vote on issues concerning the well being of the association and the elk industry as a whole.

We are proud to be associated with the North American Elk Breeders Association, the South Dakota Animal Industry Board and the great state of South Dakota.

We were pleased with the initial turnout and want to thank everyone involved for their support. The success of this organization will depend on the memberships and the support of the members to make it grow.

We encourage all elk breeders, business people and any other groups or individuals interested in elk to become involved in the South Dakota Elk Breeders Association. We are making strides toward the future, and making friendships to last a lifetime.
